Richardson, 71, is a former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company executive.

Plastic compounds supplier A. Schulman Inc. has appointed John W. Richardson as chief financial officer effective November 1.

Richardson, 71, will replace current Schulman CFO Joseph Levanduski, who joined the Fairlawn, Ohio-based company in 2011.

Richardson most recently served as CFO of Denver, Col.-based Qwest Communications International; and was previously employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where his positions included vice president, corporate finance and chief accounting officer, and as chairman and general manager of the company’s British subsidiary. Richardson retired from Goodyear in 2002.

“John is a consummate leader and business savvy innovator who has an exceptional track record of optimizing an enterprise’s intrinsic value creation proposition,” said Joseph Gingo, Schulman’s chairman, president, and CEO. “He is ideally suited to be a timely financial and operational strategist and catalyst as A. Schulman reinvigorates its five-year growth plans.”
